Nila Wood is a British‑Indian illustrator and designer who tells stories through colour, character, and crafted detail.

With over ten years of experience in design for animation, she has collaborated with many studios such as Blue Zoo, Blinkink, Lighthouse, and Scribbleroom - building joyful, emotive and detailed worlds for 2D and 3D productions alike.

Trained in Animation Production and a proud CalArts residency alum, Nila works fluidly between traditional and digital media, using watercolour, pencils, Photoshop and Blender to bring a tactile, heartfelt quality to her work. Her creative process is grounded in curiosity, culture, and the small human moments that make stories feel real.

Now focusing on illustration for children’s media, Nila brings her background in animation into playful, expressive images that connect across ages. She lives in the UK with her wonderful husband, two brilliant kids (and occasional art directors), and a home full of pencils, picture books, and cups of tea.
